MET POLICE MOUNTED BRANCH @IMBER COURT
We were lucky to be invited to Imber Court where the Met Police house and train their horses.
The People we support met several of the Horses and learned all about how they are cared for, their exercise routines, dietary requirements and how they are trained to do their very special and important jobs.
We were privileged to witness some of the experts hand making their leather saddles, reins and mouth piece.
After the tour we got to visit the Imber Court, Mounted branch Museum where we learned about the 100 years of Horses being at Imber Court. Some of us were very excited to try on the Police helmets, especially some of the staff !!
What a fantastic day and an opportunity to see that animals can have important jobs too and some of the group left with a new appreciation of police horses. We cannot wait to return Next year.
Thank you to everyone at Imber Court.
