Service with a smile.

On Thursdays Kostas, Chrissie, Sarah and David volunteer at St Georges College canteen to help with the food service. We serve the students, teachers and workers in the school.

I like working in the canteen said Sarah and we get a free lunch!

I like to be on the hot food counter. I like to serve lots of different foods. I serve pasta, potatoes, vegetables and lots of other yummy food!! When I first started work I was a little shy but now I talk to all the students and teachers with confidence and make sure I smile and say “please” and “thank you”. All the canteen staff are very nice and they are my friends. I like wearing the staff uniform. I feel very important and valued in my role. - Kostas

I am on the pudding counter. When I serve them, it makes me hungry and I want to eat them all. My favourite is the rocky road. I usually work with Chrissie and David. When someone takes a cake, we have to restock it with a new one. There are lots of people taking the deserts quickly, so we have to work very fast to replace the ones that have been taken. There is like a thousand cakes to serve !! That is so many. I am very tired after working so hard. I like to talk to the teachers. They know me and are always very nice to me. - Sarah
